Gu Yan reagent-Jilin University research team developed "water jet inkless printing"

A related research result of "water-jet printing" by the research team of Professor Zhang Xiaoan of the School of Chemistry of Jilin University was published in the "Nature News", a newsletter of the British "Nature" magazine on January 28th. It has aroused great concern from many overseas peers, industry experts and mainstream media.

The technical core of "water jet inkless printing" lies in printing paper. It is to load the hydrochromic dye on the paper base. When the paper meets water, it will show color. When the water evaporates to dryness, the paper will return to the colorless state, so as to achieve repeated use. This not only solves the problems of ink cartridge clogging and expensive replacement of ink cartridges faced by inkjet printing consumers, but also reduces environmental pollution and waste of resources.

Regarding the application prospects of this technology, Zhang Xiaoan said: "We can look forward to using this paper to print a newspaper or magazine for one day, and the paper can be printed again and used the next day."
