When the folding size changes, such as from folding 16 to 32, the folding machine needs to be adjusted properly. If the adjustment is not correct, there will often be a problem of dropping the signature, that is, when the machine is slow, the 32-open signature is forwarded normally, but when the speed of the machine is accelerated, the signature cannot be transported out, but wrapped in the folding roller, Or half of it was carried by a paper cutter, and the other half was sandwiched in another signature, causing traffic jams at a glance and jamming the folding machine in others. This phenomenon is commonly known as dropping posts. The following are some of the reasons and solutions for the post that I have summarized in my work.

1. Needle hanging problem

Due to the long use time of the hanging needle, on the one hand, the thread on the surface of the hanging needle is flattened, which reduces the friction of the surface of the hanging needle; on the other hand, the needle tip of the hanging needle is worn and the length is shortened, making it impossible to hang. Staying in the book section causes messing up and dropping posts.

Solution: replace the hanging needle.

2. Problem of zigzag cutter

Due to long-term use, serious wear and tear, the actual use height of the cutting knife has decreased, causing the paper tape to not be cut at a time, affecting the next folding work.

Solution: replace the saw blade. Note: The new knife should not be too high when replacing, so as not to accelerate the damage of the knife pad.

3. The problem of rubber strip knife pad

Due to long-term use, the knife edge becomes deeper and wider, and the paper tape is continuously cut, which causes the roller to wrap and drop the post.

Solution: replace the knife pad.

4. Problems with brushes

When installing the brush, if the post is too light, the 32-open post is prone to short-selling; if the post is too heavy, it will dirty the under-dried blots, and if the post is too heavy, the post will be dirty. When the brush tightening force is greater than the clamping force of the two-fold splint on the signature, the 8-open signature cannot be transmitted, resulting in the phenomenon of dropped signatures and disordered sheets.

Solution: Adjust the brush tightness properly.

5. Folding blade problem

The new blades are produced by stamping. After the stamping, the edge of the blade is slightly curled and has small burrs. These burrs are not conducive to the retracting action of the folding knife. When the folding knife is retracted, the burrs will hook the signatures out of the splint, so the new blade must first remove these burrs before use to make the blade smoother.

Solution: Use fine oil stone or fine sandpaper to polish the folding edge.

6. The installation problem of the folding knife holder

The folding knife has a compression action when retracting, that is, it rotates around an angle around the center line of the folding knife axis. Therefore, when installing the folding knife holder, it is necessary to ensure that the shaft hole of the folding knife holder is concentric with the folding knife shaft, so that the folding knife can rotate flexibly without being stuck.

Solution: Install the folding knife seat correctly. While tightening the bolt, gently rock the folding knife back and forth.

7. The coordination problem between the first horizontal folding knife and the splint

(1) Folding knife height

The height of the folding knife blade is too low, and the amount of clamping of the signatures is very small, or even the signatures are not clamped, which is not conducive to the transfer of the signatures on the splint; Due to the limited opening of the splint, it will be difficult for the folding knife to retract, and it may be possible to pull out the signature and cause the folding fault.

Solution: Adjust the height of the folding knife blade to an appropriate position.

(2) Relative position of folding knife blade and splint

The splint consists of a fixed splint and a movable splint. The folding knife blade is too close to the fixed splint, which will cause the retracting of the knife to be completed but the movable splint is not completely closed, causing the signature to run out of control. Make it difficult to withdraw the knife, and dial out the signature.

Solution: Adjust the relative position of the folding knife blade and the splint so that the folding knife blade is about 2/5 from the fixed splint and about 3/5 from the movable splint.

8. The coordination problem between the second horizontal folding knife and the splint

The causes and solutions are similar to Article 7. However, because the thickness of the signature doubled at this time, and the spread of the splint was slightly less than the spread of the splint (about 9.8mm), plus the adjustment here directly related to the size of the 32-split signature format, so the adjustment The accuracy is higher, and you need to be more careful when operating.

9. 32 open cam problem

(1) New and old cam problems

If the cam is used for a long time and the working surface is seriously worn, the opening of the splint is reduced, which affects the folding knife forward and backward.

Solution: replace the cam.

(2) The installation position of the circumferential direction of the cam

When the cam is installed too far, the one-fold splint opens too early, and the two-fold splint has not fully caught the signature, which will cause the signature to run out of control; Open, two splints appeared to grab posts at the same time, causing posts to drop and mess up.

Solution: Jog the machine and adjust the 32-cam to the proper position.

In addition, if the paper feeder is not adjusted properly, the paper feed is too slow, resulting in excessive tension of the paper tape, which can also cause the phenomenon of drop off. At this time, after the machine is pressed together, the paper tape will make a "boom" sound. Under normal circumstances, do not easily adjust the CVT feeder to avoid unnecessary trouble.
