The "Multi-angle Polarization Imager" project undertaken by Anguang passed acceptance

On February 25, the pre-research project of multi-angle polarization imaging instrument for civil aerospace technology led by the Optical Remote Sensing Center of Anguang Institute of Hefei Institute of Material Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences passed the acceptance of experts. The expert group believes that this technology will vigorously promote the development of new technologies for satellite loading in China.

The multi-angle polarization imager project team has applied the multi-angle polarization detection technology to meet the needs of global atmospheric environment and climate change research, high-precision quantitative remote sensing atmospheric correction, etc., breaking through the key technologies of atmospheric aerosol high-precision satellite remote sensing and completing the engineering design The multi-angle polarizing imager principle prototype has built a multi-angle imager laboratory radiation / polarization / geometric calibration system. The main performance indicators of the prototype have reached or are close to the same international load level, and its research results cover the technical characteristics of the two major technical routes in Europe and America.

At the acceptance meeting, the expert group agreed that the project team aimed at the international technological frontiers of global atmospheric environment and climate change research. Over the years, it has devoted itself to the development of polarization remote sensing technology, and actively carried out research on atmospheric multi-angle polarization satellite remote sensing technology. A series of important achievements have been made in satellite remote sensing detection technology, laboratory polarization calibration technology, and atmospheric multi-angle polarization information inversion technology.

This project is the first civil aerospace project led and successfully completed by the Anguang Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In addition to some scientific research results, the research over five years has also trained and cultivated a young and energetic space payload for the Anguang Institute. The engineering research and development technical team has laid a good technical and talent base for undertaking the aerospace load model task in the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan".
