Dutch publishing company Elektor International Media publishes 30 to 40 electronic and paper books each year, introducing some technologies. This year, the company published a book that actually used some of these technologies-namely NFC and RFID technology.

Han Nabben is the author of this book. He is the senior director of NXP Semiconductors ’Global Marketing and Communications Department. Nabben once found Wisse Hettinga, the editor-in-chief of Elektor, to explain to him the idea of ​​the book and the idea of ​​built-in NFC technology. Hettinga said: "He found a way to combine work and interest."

The book contains a total of 8 NFC tags. The label pasted on the cover contains a link, and users can use NFC mobile phones to download the theme song of the book on the linked webpage. There are 5 tags in the book, users can get more information, pictures or videos about hot air balloons in the linked pages; they can also share this book on social media such as Facebook through these tags. There are also two labels on the back of the book, allowing users to write personalized information, such as birthday wishes to the recipient, their own experience of flying in a balloon, or links to other sites of interest.
