K-M, a German plastic extrusion machinery company, recently introduced a new extruder die system that allows plastic pipe manufacturers to completely stop online adjustment of pipe diameter and wall thickness.
The die system, called QuickSwitch, uses a tapered mandrel that moves in the axial direction to adjust the die spacing, and is equipped with a special combination of sizing. The final diameter of the pipe is adjusted to give full play to the system. Automatic control technology developed specifically for this type of die.
The system can be used for new pipe extrusion lines as well as for existing equipment. According to reports, a 160-250mm pipe production line equipped with this new die can save a cost of 200,000 euros per year, because it reduces downtime, thereby reducing labor costs and product inventories, and reducing scrap, improving Pipe plant production efficiency is very obvious.
