Research and Practice of Training Modern Packaging Talents (I)

[Abstract] This paper proposes the training standards for modern packaging talents, introduces the comprehensive training plan for undergraduate teaching of modern packaging talents, and introduces the reform practice and initial results of a series of curriculum systems, teaching contents, teaching methods and teaching methods.

Since Tianjin University of Science and Technology (formerly known as Tianjin Institute of Light Industry) established its packaging engineering teaching and research section in May 1984, it has been creating packaging engineering higher education for nearly 20 years. During this period, the scale of running schools has been continuously expanding, the level of running schools has been rising, and the quality of education has been continuously improved. In April 1985, the Department of Packaging and Art Engineering was established. It successively changed its name to the Department of Industrial Art and Engineering and the Department of Printing and Packaging Engineering. In 2003, the group was established as a School of Packaging and Printing Engineering. Now it is approved by the State Council’s Academic Degrees Committee, and it is in light industry technology and engineering. The Ph.D.-authorized program will set up a doctoral program for packaging engineering and a master degree in printing engineering within the scope of a subject. Since 1991, the enrollment scale for undergraduates of packaging engineering has been about 120 each year (this year it has been reduced to 60), and the employment rate for graduates has been at the forefront of the school for three consecutive years. Since 2001, they have jointly applied with Jiangnan University and Beijing Institute of Graphic Arts to the Ministry of Education to provide loans for the reform of higher education in the early 21st century. A new round of reforms in education and teaching have been started and have achieved initial success.

1 Understanding of modern packaging talents

The modern packaging talents have a process of deepening their understanding. In particular, in conjunction with learning the report of the 16th National Congress of the CPC, there has been a leap forward in understanding.
a. Modern packaging talents should be able to adapt to the obvious acceleration of the process of economic globalization, the rapid advancement of science and technology, the emerging knowledge economy, and the increasingly fierce competition in the overall national strength;
b. Modern packaging talents should be applied talents with a solid foundation in the all-round development of morality, intelligence, and physical education, and broad knowledge. They have the interest and ability to acquire cutting-edge knowledge, are familiar with cutting-edge technologies in packaging technology, and understand information technology and biotechnology. , materials science and other high-tech latest developments;
c. Modern packaging talents should be the descendants of China’s advanced culture, with a high level of cultural quality and artistic accomplishment, and a way of thinking that combines logic and image.
d. Modern packaging talents should have the spirit of innovation, innovation and innovation, and be the new force in packaging technology innovation.
e. Modern packaging talents, in the "people-packaging-product-environment" system, "people-oriented" and "friendly to the environment", have the resources to save resources; environmental protection awareness and strategic vision of economic sustainable development.
In short, the broad vision, quick thinking, practice-oriented, continuous innovation, people-oriented, and environment-friendly are truly modern packaging talents.

2 Establish a curriculum system for training modern packaging talents

Based on the above understanding of modern packaging talents, in 2002 our school revised the comprehensive training plan for undergraduate packaging engineering.
2.1 Guidelines for revision The guiding principles for revision are: strengthening the foundation, broadening the profession, strengthening practice, highlighting innovation, paying attention to comprehensiveness, and paying special attention to strengthening adaptability. In order to enhance adaptability, our school has established the concept of large packaging, building a large platform for academic disciplines, the first academic year of public engineering platform, the second academic year of packaging engineering, printing engineering professional graphics information direction, building a school-based subject basic courses platform. In this way, it is conducive to the transfer of majors and professional orientations of two majors. At the same time, elective courses such as packaging and printing, image platemaking principles, and color desktop systems, etc., will be offered. If students do not turn professional, they can broaden their knowledge. , increase employment competitiveness.
In order to enhance the adaptability, our school encourages students to study double degree, carry out economics, management, foreign language and other liberal arts disciplines training, build composite packaging talents.
2.2 Strengthening Basic Course Teaching According to the comprehensive nature of the packaging project, we must adhere to the basic courses of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Theoretical Mechanics, and Materials Mechanics. This will not only benefit the solid foundation, but also Effectively improve student admission rates.
2.3 Pay attention to the cultivation of students' cultural quality. Set up a certain proportion of cultural quality elective courses, open up art design practice courses such as decoration design, modeling design, etc. to improve students' art appreciation ability and decorating creativity.
2.4 Enhancing the Frontier of Discipline and Modern High-tech Knowledge Education Opened "Introduction to Modern Chemistry", "Introduction to Modern Biology", "Introduction to Environmental Science and Engineering", "Mathematical Modeling", and "Introduction to Biochemistry" Elective courses.
2.5 Enhancing Innovative Education The general selection course of "Creativity Studies" and "A Brief History of Natural Science" are combined with the second classroom teaching practice to cultivate students' innovative spirit, enlighten students' sense of innovation, and develop students' innovative ability.
2.6 Computer Science and Technology to Improve Packing Disciplines Specialty courses such as packaging technology, packaging structure design, transportation packaging, and packaging testing will be set up in a professional direction. At the same time, computer application courses such as CAD basics, graphic design software applications, and computer graphics will be strengthened. Technology upgrades traditional packaging disciplines.
