Nanchang University Research and Development Successful Wood Adhesive Technology

In October 2003, Nanchang University in Jiangxi Province successfully developed a new type of wood adhesive production technology. This technology converts yellow rice, deteriorated early rice, rice straw, and bamboo vine into a non-polluting wood adhesive, which can solve yellow rice and rice. Straw, bamboo and other biomass resources become renewable new industrial raw materials.
This new technology featuring environmental protection, regeneration, and high efficiency uses a biomass liquefaction method to liquefy the early rice, rice straw, and bamboo shoots that have been deteriorating yellowing at high temperatures and at the reflux temperature of the liquefier. Polyols, using bio-polyols as raw materials, and poly-organic acids as cross-linkers, produce new types of non-polluting wood adhesives. There is no need for any separation and purification steps in the production process, and no "three wastes" pollution. It is reported that in the liquefaction process, the conversion rate is close to 100%, and no separation and purification steps are required in the production process. The equipment is simple and compact, and the investment is low and the effect is quick.
According to authoritative inspections, the technology produces no formaldehyde and free phenol in the wood adhesive. Its bonding strength meets the standard of Type II plywood. The performance is the same as that of phenolic resin. It can be used for the production of environment-friendly plywood and environmentally friendly particle board. Market prospects.
