Drop test of package

Drops are accidents that occur during handling or transportation. The drop test is used to inspect and evaluate the impact strength of the transport package when it is subjected to vertical impact during handling and handling, and the ability of the package to protect the contents.

The test simulates the situation when the package is dropped onto the ground after being lifted during handling and handling. That is, the test sample is lifted up to a predetermined height, and then it is allowed to fall freely on the impact surface, and the change of the package after the force is detected.

For cuboid shape test specimens, it shall include states such as angle, edge, end surface, side surface, and bottom surface; for cylindrical shape test specimens, it shall include dropping the gravity line of the test specimen through the surface, line, and point; Test specimens such as bags or bags shall include the drop of the gravity line of the test sample through the face, face and sides.

Regardless of whether the package is in the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped, cylindrical or bag-shaped, the drop height depends on the quality of the package and the mode of transport. Drop test precautions are as follows. • Temperature and humidity adjustments. Changes in temperature and humidity can significantly affect the buffering properties of certain materials and deteriorate the buffering effect. Therefore, before the package drop test, the package must be adjusted for temperature and humidity. • Drop tests for dangerous goods. Packagings containing dangerous goods must comply with various mandatory laws and regulations, special performance requirements, and loading and unloading requirements. Special guarantees must be provided for the integrity of contents, and inspection strength should be increased accordingly. • The number of drop tests. The number of drop tests depends on the magnitude of the possible vertical shock. The test conditions and test methods for the vertical drop test shall be in accordance with the provisions of the national standard "Drop test method for packaging and transport packages" (GB4857.5-1992) and "Test method for large-scale transport packages" (GB5398-1999) .

The current international standard for "Packaged completed, filled transport package drop vertical impact test" (IS02248) can currently be referenced or implemented.
